Dr.
H. Duncan Dorris, Jr.
Dr. H. Duncan Dorris, Jr. was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He
attended the University of Georgia where he majored in microbiology.
While at the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Dorris became interested
in the specialty of dermatology. After completing two years of an Internal
Medicine residency program at the University of Tennessee Medical Center
in Memphis, he returned to the Medical College of Georgia for three additional
years of dermatology training. Completing that program in June, 1995,
Dr. Dorris joined Dermatology Associates of Asheville, PA in July 1995.
In January 2006, he opened Forest Dermatology, a solo practice in south
Asheville.
Dr. Dorris is a Board Certified Dermatologist and is a member of the
American Academy of Dermatology. He is also a member of the North Carolina
Dermatology Association, the Christian Medical and Dental Association
and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons. He is on the staff
of Mission St. Joseph Health Systems Hospitals in Asheville and Spruce
Pine Community Hospital in Spruce Pine, North Carolina.
Dr. Dorris and his wife, Mary, reside in Asheville with their five children.
They are active members of Arden Presbyterian Church. Dr. Dorris’ personal
interests include many outdoor activities and he enjoys spending time
with his children who are involved in Boy Scouts, soccer and dance.
Kellye R. Bookout, PA-C
Kellye Bookout sees patients alongside Dr. Dorris at Forest Dermatology.
She is originally from Gainesville, GA. and a recent graduate from South
University in Savannah, GA with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies.
She received her undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine from North Georgia
College and State University in Dahlonega, GA. She then worked as an
Athletic Trainer at Memorial Health University Medical Center for five
years providing medical coverage for local high school sports teams.
Kellye is a Board Certified Physician Assistant through the National
Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is also a member
of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, as well as the American
Academy of Physician Assistants and the Georgia Association of Physician
Assistants.
Kellye and her husband, J.D., have recently relocated to the Asheville
area. Their personal interests include hiking, mountain biking, and spending
time with their black lab, Millie, and their son, Jackson.
